Veterans Memorial Portal at Tobin Center for the Performing Arts
San Antonio, TX
As part of the overall Tobin Center campus, the Veterans Memorial Portal at the Will Naylor Smith Memorial Plaza provides an accessible connection to the San Antonio Riverwalk and also a park-like plaza that serves as an outdoor performance space which can be rented for private events and houses an 18’x 32’ video wall for movie nights as well as live simulcast events. The plaza has become an unparalleled outdoor experience along the San Antonio River and is lined by a beautiful garden that sits on the riverside entrance of the Tobin Center.
Also included as part of the project was the Medal of Honor Walk that was a memorial dedicated to the brave service members with ties to San Antonio who received the Congressional Medal of Honor, our country’s highest military honor.
The Projects Group was engaged to manage the design and construction of this project and worked closely with Bexar County on all design aspects as well as the content for the Medal of Honor walk.
